People on Twitter seem to be confused about whether they’re watching the James Comey hearing or an episode of Netflix’s “House of Cards.”
“Just watched a great episode of House of Cards. Oh wait…that was CNN?” one user tweeted.
“House Of Cards is now streaming in order, live, on every cable news channel,” tweeted another.
Even the official Twitter account for the Netflix show took to the social media platform to troll the hearing with one clever gif, stemming from an episode of the new season in which Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) attends a congressional hearing.

The tweet comes after former Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) said on Thursday, “What worries me…is this isn’t reality TV. This isn’t House of Cards. This is American democracy on trial.”
Former FBI director James Comey testified on Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee about his interactions with President Donald Trump.
During the testimony, he said that he created a detailed memo with notes on his January meeting with President Trump because he “was honestly concerned that he might lie.” Comey also explained that he felt Trump made him “uneasy” when Trump requested political loyalty during their dinner meeting.
The Senate Intelligence Committee is investigating possible connections between Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia during last year’s election when the president defeated Hillary Clinton. Trump abruptly fired Comey on May 9 amid the ongoing FBI investigation into Russia potentially meddling with the election. At the time, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Tobin called the move a “grotesque abuse of power.”

Is this the point in the show, where Comey breaks the forth wall and talks to us directly like Frank Underwood in House of Cards?

Watching this Comey testimony / the madness of the Trump administration unfold is what I imagine watching House Of Cards is like…
