James Cameron to School NAB Attendees on Making 3D Profitable

James Cameron will head a 3D panel at the NAB Show in Las Vegas — “Hunger Games” director Gary Ross will also lead a session

James Cameron, 3D evangelist behind hugely successful "Avatar" and the retrofitted "Titanic,"  will school NAB Show attendees on the secrets of making that platform profitable, the National Association of Broadcaster said Tuesday.

Cameron and his Cameron Pace Group partner Vince Pace will lead their April 16 panel, titled "The Secrets of Making 3D Profitable," at 10:30 a.m. in Las Vegas.

"Hunger Games" director Gary Ross, along with that movie's sound designers, also will head a panel, as will "The Walking Dead" executive producers.

Cameron's session will focus on the company's technology that allows crews to shoot 2D and 3D simultaneously, without a significant increase in cost or personnel. They call it "5D."

More than 90,000 people from 151 countries attend the NAB Show, an electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums.
