Columbia Pictures is looking at James Caan to join the cast of "I Hate You Dad," a comedy also starring Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler, TheWrap has learned.
The movie is about a disagreeable father, played by Sandler, who moves in with his son and the young man's fiancee just before the son is to get married.

Sean Anders and John Morris ("Mr. Popper's Penguins," "Hot Tub Time Machine") are directing.
David Caspe wrote the original script and the "State" team of David Wain and Ken Marino ("Wanderlust") rewrote.
Jack Giarraputo, Heather Parry and Adam Sandler are producing through their Happy Madison Productions.
Caan was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Santino "Sonny" Corleone in 1972's "The Godfather." From 2003 to 2007, he starred as Ed Deline on NBC's "Las Vegas."
The movie has a release date of June 22, 2012.
