Action hero made popular by Tom Clancy’s best-selling novels was most recently played on the big screen by Chris Pine

Jack Ryan is making a comeback, on the small screen.

Paramount TV’s series adaptation of the popular action franchise based on Tom Clancy‘s novels has landed at Amazon, which has given it a series order.

The new iteration of “Jack Ryan” comes from the “Lost” duo of co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland, with Michael Bay‘s Platinum Dunes and Skydance Media also on board to produce.

Roland will executive produce, along with Lindsey Springer of Carlton Cuse Productions, Platinum Dunes’ Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form and Mace Neufeld.

The character of Jack Ryan has been popularized through many film adaptations, and has been played by actors including Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford and most recently, Chris Pine, in Kenneth Branagh‘s reboot “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.”
