NBC finished first in primetime’s total viewers Wednesday with the new night and time for J. Lo’s “World of Dance” — but the network ended up in third among adults 18-49.
CBS and Fox edged NBC by one-tenth of a Nielsen in the advertiser-coveted demographic. For Fox, well, it was another night to be thankful that it doesn’t program 10 p.m. nationally like CBS, NBC and ABC do.
“Big Brother” beat “World of Dance” straight-up in their only head-to-head hour at 8, though Jennifer Lopez’s dance competition topped the charts at 9.
CBS and Fox tied for first in ratings with a 0.9 rating. Fox had a 5 share, CBS got a 4. CBS was second in total viewers with 3.7 million, Fox was third with 3.4 million.
For CBS, “Big Brother” at 8 landed a 1.5/8 and 5.6 million viewers. At 9, “TKO” had a 0.6/3 and 2.7 million viewers. A rerun followed.
For Fox, “MasterChef” at 8 posted a 1.0/5 and 3.6 million viewers. At 9, “24 Hours to Hell and Back” received a 0.9/4 and 3.1 million viewers.
NBC was third in ratings with a 0.8/4, but first in viewers with 4 million. Starting at 8, two hours of “World of Dance” averaged a 1.0/5 and 4.9 million viewers. “Reverie” at 10 managed a 0.4/2 and 2.2 million viewers.
ABC and Telemundo tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.6/3. ABC was fourth in total viewers with 2.5 million, airing all reruns; Telemundo was fifth with 1.4 million.
Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 911,000. At 8, the “Burden of Truth” premiere settled for a 0.2/1 and 930,000 viewers. At 9, “The Originals” got a 0.3/1 and 891,000 viewers.
