The space saga “God Particle” will be released on Feb. 24, 2017, Paramount Pictures said Tuesday.

Julius Onah will direct the modestly-budgeted sci-fi thriller, which “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” director J.J. Abrams is producing with his Bad Robot Productions partner Bryan Burk. Oren Uziel wrote the original screenplay, which was revised by Doug Jung. No cast has been announced.

“God Particle” follows an American space station crew which, believing they have destroyed Earth via a Hadron accelerator, allow the crew of hostile nation to board their ship, with disastrous results.

For now at least, it has the weekend to itself.
