It’s not all Snooki and J-Woww at MTV these days: "16 and Pregnant" is turning out to be quite the bundle of joy for the cable network.
Wednesday’s second-season premiere of the docusoap delivered a series-best 3.4 million viewers, beating NBC’s Olympics coverage among women under 34 and ranking as the most-watched program on cable for the day, MTV said.
"Preggers" also drew more viewers than a number of primetime shows on broadcast TV last night, including repeats of ABC’s "Cougar Town" and repeats of "Life Unexpected" and "Gossip Girl" on The CW. Among all viewers 12-34, the show beat everything on broadcast TV Wednesday except for "American Idol" and the Olympics.
