“Interstellar” will pit Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway against an extraterrestrial tidal wave — and it’s scarier than any little green men that have populated the big screen in the past.
A third theatrical trailer (above) for the upcoming Paramount Pictures release directed by Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight”) shows a bit more of the space adventure than audiences anxiously anticipating the science fiction film have seen before.
In one moment, McConaughey — who co-star Michael Caine describes in the trailer as “the best pilot” Earth has ever had — watches as Hathaway’s character swims toward “mountains” after landing a craft on a new planet. Unfortunately, the giant mass in the distance is a mountain of moving water.

“Interstellar,” which follows a group of astronauts traveling through a newly-discovered wormhole to find a new home for humans, hits theaters on Nov. 7.
