Hollywood loves an opening night.
When Drake kicked off a six pack of L.A. shows at the Staples Center Wednesday night, the guest stars were not only on stage.
While local heroes Snoop Dogg and Compton artist YG joined your mom’s favorite rap star to perform, a strong Hollywood delegation also filled the arena in the seats and the suites for the nicest guy in hip-hop.
In the seats: Rihanna, singing along to “Started from the Bottom.” Her non-appearance in the set itself is surprising because the couple have been showing up on each other’s stages all year.
Up in the suites, Hollywood had its own private party in the Hyde Lounge hosted by Diddy, Mark Wahlberg and Ron Burkle’s performance water AQUAHydrate. This was the prime real estate.
Just as Rihanna was a face in the crowd in the seats below, Anthony Anderson, Jamie Foxx and Marlon Wayans took in “Hotling Bling” and “One Dance” from one of Hyde’s booths.
“How to Get Away with Murder” co-stars Aja Naomi King, Alfred Enoch, Jack Falahee and Kendrick Sampson must not have had early Thursday morning call times, as they made it a cast night out.
The finely-tuned social radar of Christina Milan landed on this private party in the rafters as well, where Ariel Winter‘s style outshined the sportswear and ripped-denim dress code for most of the young Hollywood contingent.
Floating through the scene: “A Bikini a Day” social media force Devin Brugman, Disney XD star Paris Berelc (that’s a 17-year-old girl), and former Disney XD “Lab Rats” star Kelli Berglund. For Berglund, the bottles of water in the ice buckets, not booze, provided a safer under-21 party playground after police cited the then 20-year-old at Coachella with a fake ID this past April.
Drake and Future play two more shows at Staples this weekend before a trio of shows at the Forum in Inglewood at the end of the month.
