Imagine Poaches Searchlight’s Steckler

Suit behind “Juno,” “(500) Days of Summer” will be new executive VP of motion pictures

Jeremy Steckler is moving from Fox Searchlight to Imagine Films, where he’ll become the production company’s executive VP of motion pictures.

At Searchlight, Steckler is credited with bringing in and overseeing acquisitions including “Juno,” “(500) Days of Summer” and “Whip It!”

Among the more than 40 projects he had a hand in at the Fox specialty division, Steckler also had a role in acquisitions including “Crazy Heart,” “My Life in Ruins,” “Choke” and “Adam,” as well as the Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming “Black Swan” and Miguel Arteta’s “Cedar Rapids, which are both in post-production.

Prior to joining Searchlight, the Duke-educated Steckler co-ran Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s production company from 2002-2006.
