The new trailer for “Beasts of No Nation” evokes sadness and terror as we watch Idris Elba‘s character, Commandant, take in Agu and train him in the ways of war.
Agu needs to reassess the meaning of family in the new trailer after his mother and father are killed and Commandant impresses him into his child army. However, this comes with deadly consequences.
“You are my family,” says Commandant. “Are you ready to fight?”
“Beasts of No Nation” is based on the highly-acclaimed novel by Nigerian author, Uzodinma Iweala. It is about Agu, a child soldier torn from his family to wage civil war in Africa. Newcomer Abraham Attah portrays Agu, while Elba’s Commandant is a warlord who conscripts him for battle in a warped portrayal of parenthood.
