Alan Ritchson is joining the cast of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Lionsgate said Thursday.
The model and actor has scored the role of Gloss, a skilled swimmer and past winner of the gladiatorial games at the center of the film. He's described as being classically beautiful, which shouldn't be too much of a stretch for the flaxen-haired Ritchson, who once modeled underwear.

However, Ritchson is probably best known for his work as the boorish football captain on Spike TV's ribald, but now canceled, "Blue Mountain State."
He joins a cast that includes returning stars Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, as well as newcomers Amanda Plummer, Jena Malone and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film will be directed by Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend").
"Catching Fire" premieres on Nov. 22, 2013.
