Hulu’s ‘Deadbeat’ Books ’30 Rock,’ ‘Girls’ Alums for Guest Star Roles

Keith Powell and Alex Karpovsky to appear on Tyler Labine sitcom

Keith Powell and Alex Karpovsky have joined Hulu’s “Deadbeat” as guest stars, TheWrap has learned.

The half-hour comedy stars Tyler Labine as Kevin Pacalioglu, a hapless but gifted medium who teams up with stoner entrepreneur Clyde, played by Kal Penn, to help New York’s ghosts settle their unfinished business.

“30 Rock” alum Powell will play Lonathan, who works as a comic book store as a cashier, and has long since retired from playing LARP games, but returns to the kingdom to regain his rightful throne.

“Girls” star Karpovsky will appear as Jerry the Liar, an avid LARPer who is described as a duplicitous Loki-like villain that backstabs his king and takes over the kingdom.

“Deadbeat” is currently in production on Season 3.

Cody Heller and Brett Konner created the series, which is executive produced by showrunner Dan Lagana. Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg from Plan B are producers on the show.

Powell, who was a series regular on NBC’s “30 Rock” throughout its seven seasons, is currently the writer, director, and star of the original web series “Keith Broke His Leg.” He is represented by SMS Talent and Leverage Management.

Karpovsky plays the role of Ray on HBO’s “Girls,” which will premiere its fifth season in 2016. He is repped by ICM.
