Hugh Dancy has just landed a role that he can really sink his teeth into — perhaps with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
The "Black Hawk Down" star has been cast in NBC's upcoming series "Hannibal," based on characters from Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon."

Dancy will play FBI agent Will Graham, who's mentored by Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who eventually turns out to be (SPOILER ALERT) a cannibalistic serial killer.
The series, which has already received a 13-episode order from NBC, will focus on the early days of Graham and Lecter's relationship.
"Pushing Daisies" writer Bryan Fuller is writing the project and producing, along with Martha DeLaurentiis, who produced 2001's "Hannibal," the 2002 version of "Red Dragon" and 2007's "Hannibal Rising."
British actor Dancy recently appeared on several episodes of Showtime's "The Big C."
Deadline first reported the news of Dancy's casting.
