(Spoiler alert: Please do not continue reading unless you watched the Thursday episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder.”)
ABC’s three Shonda Rhimes-produced dramas delivered shocking midseason finales Thursday night that sent fans into a tizzy on social media. For viewers, it was their last chance until 2016 for fresh action from “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder.”
On “Grey’s Anatomy,” fans got what appeared to be an explanation for why Owen hates Nathan — one that revealed a history (an apparently unhappy one) between Owen’s sister and Riggs. But the exact nature of the relationship was left undefined — which didn’t keep fans from speculating and others from griping about the lack of clarity.
Crazy episode of Grey’s Anatomy! Nathan is Owens brother. Didn’t know he had a brother or a sister. I dont like cliff hangers! #greysanatomy

Owen has a sister? Was Riggs married to her? Did Jo say yes? Did Jackson tell April he loved her? So many unanswered questions #GreysAnatomy – Hannah Scholten (@hscholten3) November 20, 2015

“Scandal,” meanwhile shocked with a a killing (perpetrated by Jake) and what appeared to be Fitz and Olivia breaking up.
Jake was Command? Oh yeah, I forgot. Now that was a #Scandal. – Joe Morton (@JOEtheMORTON) November 20, 2015
This is what happens when he has to play when #Scandal is on https://t.co/9bnISH4Y1z

So that was the finale? I need some more closure and that didn’t do it for me #Scandal pic.twitter.com/NCMPm627kU – Jalen (@TheBlot05) November 20, 2015
Finally, on “How to Get Away With Murder,” the mystery that had been hanging over the show since the Season 2 premiere was taken up a notch as viewers discovered who shot Viola Davis‘ Annalise Keating.
#HTGAWM did not disappoint. Again did not see that ending coming. Great work everyone tonight. This ish is beautifully twisted.

But Besides shock, sadness that the three shows won’t be returning until February 2016 ruled the Twitterverse.
