Stern joined the show for its seventh season, following the departure of judge Piers Morgan. The season premiere featuring Stern’s debut in May 2012 was down 16 percent in the key 18-49 demographic compared to the previous season premiere — though the earlier premiere may have benefited from “The Voice” following “Talent.”

The most recent incarnation of the judging panel, for the show’s eighth season, consisted of Stern, Howie Mandel, Melanie Brown and Heidi Klum.
