Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) is back for the new school year, and she’s not going to let anyone forget that’s where she belongs.
“And to think, they wouldn’t even let me step foot on this campus a few months ago,” Annalise tells her newest class of hopeful law students in the new Season 5 trailer that ABC dropped on Thursday. “Despite what you think, this is not a class. It’s a sacrifice. Brutal. Mean. Depressing. But that’s what it costs to change the world. So who wants in?”
Cue to the entire room of students raising their hands. But if the last four seasons are an indication of what’s to come, our advice would be to take up a different major.
In happier news, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) and Connor (Jack Falahee) are officially tying the knot — “with a wedding!” as Ollie gleefully says in the trailer. Connor doesn’t look too thrilled about that part of it, though.
And of course, would it really be “HTGAWM” if the happy ending didn’t have a twist?
Hitman Frank (Charlie Weber) shows up mid-reception, and Annalise asks, “Why do you look like someone just died?” Well, the title of the show is “How to Get Away with Murder,” so we’ll give you one guess.
Then, Gabriel Maddox (Rome Flynn) makes an appearance to say that “once a person commits murder, something inside them is rotten” as we see a blood-laden snowbank.
Welp, Murder is back in session! Watch the trailer above.
“How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 premieres Sept. 27 on ABC.
