It’s about to get hotter on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland.”
Talented (and handsome) Billy Baldwin has been cast in a multiple-episode recurring guest role on the comedy, TheWrap has learned.
Baldwin will play Jake, a reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, who is investigating Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) and Elka (Betty White) about a potential scandal. Despite the threat he poses, Melanie can’t help falling for his charm and idealism, and the feeling is mutual.
The actor will begin shooting the role in January.
Best known for starring in movies like “Backdraft,” “Squid and the Whale” and “Flatliners,” Baldwin has previously played recurring television roles on The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0,” NBC’s “Parenthood” and ABC’s “Dirty Sexy Money.”
“Hot in Cleveland,” which celebrated its 100th episode in October, will come to a close after the currently airing sixth season. In addition to Bertinelli and White, the comedy stars Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
“Hot in Cleveland,” which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TV Land, is executive produced by Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner and Sean Hayes.
Paradigm and Brillstein Entertainment represent Baldwin.
