In what shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, Showtime has placed full-series orders for "Homeland," starring Claire Danes, and "House of Lies, starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell.
The star-studded series will get at least 12 episodes each, and production will begin this summer.
"Homeland" stars the Emmy-winning Claire Danes as a CIA officer who becomes convinced that a U.S. soldier back from war (Damian Lewis) is connected to an Al Qaeda plot against the U.S. Mandy Patinkin will play her boss and mentor in the series, written by "24" show runner Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff. It is based on Raff’s Israeli television series “Prisoners of War.”

"House of Lies," is a half-hour comedy created, written and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan from book "House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time" by Martin Kihn. Cheadle stars as a cutthroat consultant, and Bell plays a saavy Ivy-League graduate who works for him. Co-stars include Ben Schwartz ("Undercovers"), Josh Lawson ("Romantically Challenged"), and Glynn Turman ("In Treatment").
The shows join a roster that includes the successes "The Big C," "Shameless," "Episodes" and "The Borgias."
