The Adam Sandler–Drew Barrymore comedy “Blended” hasn’t connected, Tom Cruise‘s big-budget sci-fi saga “Edge of Tomorrow” underwhelmed domestically and the upcoming musical “Jersey Boys” doesn’t look strong.
But the sky isn’t falling, and the problem isn’t with the studio’s long-term strategy or its willingness to swing for the fences with big-budget tentpoles too often.
