“Some called you princess,” screenwriter Dustin Lance Black tweeted after the death of Carrie Fisher. “To me you were the Queen.”
The “Milk” Oscar winner was one of many devastated by the passing of Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original “Star Wars” trilogy and last year’s “The Force Awakens.”
Singer Ryan Adams wrote simply: “RIP Carrie Fisher. May the force be with you always.”
Fisher passed away on Tuesday after suffering a major heart attack. Her friends, co-stars and admirers took to Twitter after news broke to pay tribute to the beloved actress, remembering her talent, accomplishments and outspoken personality.
“I’m deeply saddened to learn of the death of Carrie Fisher,” William Shatner wrote in a tweet. “I will miss our banterings. A wonderful talent & light has been extinguished.”
“I’m heartbroken,” wrote Greg Grunberg, who appeared in “The Force Awakens.” “Such a special person gone way too soon. I will forever miss #CarrieFisher. RIP”
