Hillary Clinton Fears 4 More Years of Trump: ‘Lord Knows What Will Happen’

Though she side-stepped endorsing any particular candidate, Hillary Clinton pleaded for Democratic voters to be practical with their primary vote in the coming election this year. That’s because, she argued, nothing could be worse than a second term for President Donald Trump.

“I want people to take their vote really, really seriously because lord knows what will happen if we don’t retire the current incumbent and his henchmen, as Nancy Pelosi so well described it,” Clinton said on Friday during the Television Critics Association. Clinton was on hand Friday to talk about her documentary “Hillary” on Hulu. You can watch the trailer for that here.

“For the democratic voters, try to vote for the person you think is most likely to win. At the end of the day that is what will matter,” she continued. “And not just the popular vote, but the electoral college.” Clinton lost the 2016 election to Trump in the Electoral College despite receiving around 3 million more votes.

“I don’t mean to be overly simplistic, but please vote,” she said. “It is almost a truism to say we can look at what’s happening politically in our country right now and be so frustrated and disgusted that it just turns you off. It wasn’t so long ago that we didn’t wake up to a president who made us worry in the morning.”

By the time “Hillary” debuts on March 6, it will be right in the thick of the Democratic primary race, coming just three days after Super Tuesday. “Maybe by that time, the field will have clarified,” she said.
