“Billions” star Malin Akerman may be getting into a scuffle with Maggie Siff‘s character, Wendy Rhoades, in the next few episodes of the Showtime series.
“There’s a lot to be said about two powerful women coming at it from different vantages and we’ll see,” Akerman told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “I’m not going to lie, there isn’t a fistfight that happens. We’re classy ladies, but…”
Akerman plays Lara Axelrod, the wife of hedge fund king Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis). But her husband’s days at the top could be numbered when he squares off against U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti).
“This all started with a fantastic pilot script that I fell in love with,” Akerman said. “I thought, ‘God, the writing is so good!’ Because that’s really what you’re looking for.”
As for what is in the future for Lara, Akerman hopes to stir up even more drama than she already has. “I want to be put into the man’s world,” she said. “I would love for Lara to get involved maybe with campaigning for a new U.S. Attorney against Paul Giamatti‘s character. Something where it creates a little more tension.”
“Billions” airs this Sunday at 10 p.m./9c on Showtime.
