‘Heartstopper’ Adds 4 Actors to Cast as Season 2 Filming Begins

The newcomers join returning cast members Kit Connor and Joe Locke

“Heartstopper” Season 2 is in production with four new actors joining the cast.

Leila Khan has joined as Sahar Zahid, a Higgs school student; Jack Barton plays David Nelson, Nick’s older brother; Bradley Riches takes on the role of James McEwan, a Truham school student; and Nima Taleghani plays Mr Farouk, a Truham school teacher.

Newcomer Khan won the role of Sahar after a nation-wide open casting call. This is her first professional acting role.

Riches was in the first season playing the role of a student, but now is in the named role of James for Season 2.

The new cast members join the returning cast: Kit Connor as Nick, Joe Locke as Charlie, Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, Sebastian Croft as Ben, Tobie Donovan as Isaac, Rhea Norwood as Imogen and Jenny Walser as Tori.

Netflix also released a brand new video with the cast saying hi from the set on Thursday, which you can watch above.

Season 1 of the show followed gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick as they met at secondary school and quickly discovered that their unlikely friendship was blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends had to navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learned to find their most authentic selves.
