HBO has acquired the rights to Jennifer Egan’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “A Visit From the Goon Squad” for development as a half-hour TV series, the cable outlet confirms to TheWrap.

The book, which won the Pulitzer for fiction this week, revolves around musLic executive Bennie Salazar and his circle of friends and associates as they find their lives wandering into unexpected directions. The book was described as “an inventive investigation of growing up and growing old in the digital age” by the Pulitzer organization when it won the award.
