Marvel Studios has found its writer for its upcoming “Hawkeye” series on Disney+ in “Mad Men” alum Jonathan Igla, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The upcoming Disney+ series will see Jeremy Renner reprise his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” and will see him train Kate Bishop to take over his mantle. Bishop, who has not been cast yet, will be making her MCU debut in the series.

Igla was a writer and story editor for “Mad Men.” He becomes the latest key creative hire for Marvel Studios’ initial slate of Disney+ shows. Malcolm Spellman is writing “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which will be directed by Kari Skogland, while “Captain Marvel” writer Jac Schaeffer will be showrunner for “WandaVision.” “Rick & Morty” alum Michael Waldron is leading “Loki.”

“Falcon and Winter Soldier” will be the first to debut on Disney+ in Fall 2020, with “WandaVision” and “Loki” set for Spring 2021. “Hawkeye” will follow in Fall 2021. The non-canon animated “What If…” will stream Summer 2021.

Marvel Studios’ chief Kevin Feige announced during the D23 Expo in August that the studio is also developing “Ms. Marvel,” “Moon Knight” and “She-Hulk” series. Disney+ is set to launch on Nov. 12 and will cost $6.99 a month or $69.99 for the whole year.

The Hollywood Reporter was first to report on Igla.
