Jimmy Kimmel on Monday managed to reunite two supposedly long-feuding co-stars from the original “Star Wars” trilogy — with an assist from everybody’s favorite singer.
First, he discovered a suicidal Chewbacca on the roof of his theater in Hollywood, with a crowd gawking up at the Wookiee.
And then he found Harrison Ford on the sidewalk below, and encouraged the actor to address his former co-star. But Ford, who supposedly had an unspecified falling out with Chewbacca over an affair of some sort, proved far from friendly at first.
“Shut your Wookiee grunt-hole, would you?” he yelled up at his pal through a megaphone. “You made a choice! She was my wife! Do us a favor, jump!”
At this point in the sketch, Kimmel tried to intervene. “I know you’ve been through a lot,” he told Ford. “But that was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.”
That segued to Ford remembering some of the “good times” together with his Wookiee pal — drinking beer, playing video games, getting pedicures. All of this is set to the tune of — what else? — Adele’s “Hello.”
Finally, Ford appeared on the roof and the two former pilots of the Millennium Falcon reunite in a big, furry embrace.
