In 2008's "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay," stoner-comedy duo Kal Penn and John Cho became best buds with former president George W. Bush while puffing on some primo weed. Now they're palling around with President Barack Obama as the current chief executive attempts to earn a second term in the White House.
Penn — who has worked in the Obama administration on and off — and Cho set the bong aside long enough to appear in a new ad for the Democratic National Convention, which sees the Leader of the Free World enlisting Penn's help.

"Hey, this is Barack. Listen, I need to know if you're on board … Because I'm counting on you. Everybody is," Obama says at the beginning of the ad, while talking on the phone. "We have to get this right. There's a lot at stake. Just remember that I'm trusting you on this, and I'll see you then."
After Obama hangs up, the camera cuts to Penn and Cho, who are planted on the couch, surrounded by munchies while watching TV.
"Who is that? It sounded intense," Cho asks Penn.
"The president," Penn responds.
"Sweet," Cho says, before getting distracted by the television.
What, no debauched Neil Patrick Harris?
Penn will host coverage of the Democratic National Convention on Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. for BarackObama.com, the president's re-election site.
