Adam Sandler is getting back into the swing of things as Happy Gilmore in the first teaser trailer for Netflix’s “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Set to the tune of “Pilot” by Magic, the video out Tuesday shows Happy return to the world of pro golf against today’s hottest, real-life players nearly 30 years after the events of the first film. Still, he’s clearly made a name for himself in the time since as he’s considered one of the greats alongside Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
Julie Bowen, Bad Bunny and Ben Stiller each get their own moments in the clip, while Christopher McDonald and Dennis Dugan are set to reprise their roles in the sequel to the 1996 sports comedy classic. Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, Blake Clark, Nick Swardson and Kym Whitley also star.
Kyle Newacheck directs from a script written by Tim Herlihy and Sandler, whom also produce alongside Robert Simonds and Jack Giarraputo. Naturally, Happy Madison Productions is the production company.
“Happy Gilmore 2” premieres July 25 on Netflix.
