Season 2 of “Hannibal” finds Dr. Hannibal Lecter on the outside of the prison bars for once.
We’ve seen Hannibal locked up many times before: In “Manhunter,” “Silence of the Lambs,” and the “Manhunter” remake “Red Dragon.” But in a dramatic shift for the Thomas Harris franchise, a new trailer for Bryan Fuller’s NBC adaptation finds Lecter looking in, and FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) looking out.

Graham’s boss, Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), took Graham into custody for murder last season. This season, Graham wants to prove that Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) did it. But he’ll need outside help.
The trailer has all the requisite “Hannibal” creepiness: Lots and lots of dead bodies, human body parts behind prepared for dinner, and more antlers like the ones we saw last season.
