After the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the new movie “Rust,” her husband has spoken out, telling Insider that Hutchins’ accidental shooting has left him with no “words to communicate the situation.”
“I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we’re going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic,” Matthew Hutchins, who has a daughter with Hutchins, told Insider. “I think that we will need a little bit of time before we can really encapsulate her life in a way that is easy to communicate.”
While details of the accident are still being pieced together, Hutchins was killed when actor Alec Baldwin accidentally discharged a prop gun on the New Mexico set. The film’s director, Joel Souza, was also injured but has since been released.
