The new “Halo 5” trailer touts “an all-new multiplayer experience,” but fans of the franchise should recognize it from “Halo 3: ODST” and “Halo: Reach.”
That doesn’t mean its return in “Halo 5: Guardians” isn’t a big deal, of course.
Firefight mode pits a team of players (up to eight, this time) against waves of enemies while trying to complete “increasingly difficult, dynamic objectives set against a timer.”
343 Industries promises that the “Halo 5” version of Firefight will provide the most on-screen enemies the series has thus far seen, which is not a surprise given that “Halo 5” is the first of the series released on the new-generation Xbox One console.
Gamers will get to experience Warzone Firefight this summer when “Halo 5” goes on sale.
