‘Better Call Saul’: Don’t Work for Gus Fring After This Los Pollos Hermanos Training Video

AMC pushes the “Breaking Bad” favorite on the latest season of “Better Call Saul”

Gustavo “Gus” Fring was one of the standout villains from “Breaking Bad.” He was connected, calculating, manipulative, and really good at hiding his meth side business. So of course he’s the star of a new series of videos promoting “Better Call Saul” Season 3 — and his fast-food chain, Los Pollos Hermanos.

The network is teaming up with Acura to sponsor a series of weekly training videos hosted by Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito) that will let fans imagine what it’s like to work for Fring — at his legitimate business, that is. You can watch the video above.

As with Fring himself, things are going to be just a little off.

First of all, in order to work for Los Pollos Hermanos, you need to complete a 10-week online seminar, which is insane for any company, especially a fast food restaurant.  Secondly, Fring drops a number of references to his time on “Breaking Bad,” including mentioning his side business and noting how someone is “always watching.”

It’s a small glimpse of the Fring we know, even if in “Better Call Saul,” which is a prequel to “Breaking Bad,” he’s at a different stage in life.

AMC has been heavily teasing Fring’s return. One Season 3 teaser heavily featured Gus and his brand in a fake commercial, but didn’t include many nods to his role on “Breaking Bad.”

The Los Pollos Hermanos brand is also getting a push. The recently held a one-day pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles, where fans could enjoy curly fries at a perfectly replicated version of the restaurant.

“Better Call Saul” returns Monday, April 10 at 10/9c.
