Hide the box cutters, everyone. Gus Fring is coming to “Better Call Saul.”
After terrifying audiences as the fast food magnate/violent drug lord on “Breaking Bad,” Giancarlo Esposito is returning to the role that earned him his first Emmy nomination as part of season 3 of “Better Call Saul.”
Of course, AMC revealed this in classic ABQ fashion: with a fake commercial for Gus’ fast food chain, Los Pollos Hermanos.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen viral ads from Walter White’s Albuquerque.
During the run of “Breaking Bad,” AMC released commercials showing Saul Goodman — or Jimmy McGill, as he’s known on “Better Call Saul” — encouraging viewers to “sue ’em now” with the help of his private practice.
Now we have this wholesome ad that seems to be a sign that we will soon discover how Jimmy first encountered Gus and the shady dealings behind Los Pollos Hermanos.
“Come in and try our new curly fries!” says Gus with an uncharacteristic smile in the ad. “We’re so sure you’ll like them, and if you don’t, they’re on me!”
We’re pretty sure that if you don’t like his fries, Gus will kill your infant daughter. Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” premieres on AMC this spring. Watch the Los Pollos Hermanos commercial above.
