Producer Peter Horton has renewed his first-look deal with Universal Television.
Under the deal, Horton will continue to write and produce projects for the studio, as well as direct.
Horton co-created and produced geopolitical drama “American Odyssey,” which was cancelled by NBC after one season. He directed the pilots for “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Class Of ’96,” “Birdland,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Dirty, Sexy, Money,” “The Philanthropist,” “Deception” and “Ironside.” His work on “Grey’s Anatomy” earned him Golden Globe and PGA awards and Emmy and DGA award nominations.
Horton originally signed a four-year deal with the studio in 2011.
“We have enjoyed a long standing, fruitful relationship with Peter,” said Universal Television president Bela Bajaria. “He is a talented director, writer and a producer with smart instincts. We look forward to continuing our relationship and to many successful projects ahead.”
Horton is represented by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
