Ratings: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Gets No Initial Demo Boost From Sandra Oh Farewell

CBS tops night with strong “Big Bang Theory,” “Millers” season finales

CBS finished first on a Thursday full of finales.

ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” finale, the farewell to Sandra Oh, was flat week-to-week, based on Thursday’s initial numbers. But the show climbed slightly in final numbers last week, and could this week as well.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.2 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 9 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. earned a 4.8/18 — a 26 percent jump from last week — and 16.3 million viewers. Both were highs for the night. “The Millers” at 8:30 also jumped 26 percent to a 2.4/8 and had 9.9 million viewers. Following a rerun, “Bad Teacher” at 9:30 got a 1.4/4 and 5.5 million viewers. The “Elementary” season finale at 10 had a 1.4/5 — a series low — and 7.3 million viewers.

Fox was second in ratings with a 1.9/6 and in viewers with 6.7 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 received a 1.7/6 and 4.8 million viewers. “American Idol” at 9 earned a 2.0/6 — up 25 percent from last week — and 8.6 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 1.4/5 and in viewers with 5.5 million. Following a repeat, the “Grey’s Anatomy” finale earned a 2.5/8 and 8.6 million viewers at 9. “Black Box” at 10 had a 1.1/4 and 4.2 million viewers.

NBC and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, each with a 1.0/3. NBC was fourth in viewers with 3.5 million. Univision was fifth with 2.5 million.

For NBC, “Hollywood Game Night” at 8 ticked up 22 percent to a 1.1/4 and had 3.8 million viewers. Part 2 of the “Rosemary’s Baby” TV event at 9 got a 1.0/3 and 3.3 million viewers.

The CW and Telemundo tied for sixth in ratings, each with a 0.6/2. The CW was sixth in viewers with 1.4 million. Telemundo was seventh with 1.3 million.

For CW, the season finale of “Vampire Diaries” at 8 received a 0.8/3 and 1.6 million viewers. At 9, the season finale of “Reign” had a 0.5/1 and 1.3 million viewers.
