Now, whether or not Blake Lively (Serena), Leighton Meester (Blair), Penn Badgley (Dan), Chace Crawford (Nate) and Ed Westwick (Chuck) decide they want to return is still TBD.
“We reached out to everybody in the cast before the announcement came and let them know that, you know, it was not contingent upon their involvement, that it was going to be a new generation of Upper Eastsiders attending the school,” “Gossip Girl” co-creator Josh Schwartz told TheWrap during the Television Critics Association press tour Friday.
