J.K. Simmons and Bruce Dern have joined the upcoming fourth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s Billy Bob Thornton-led “Goliath,” the streaming service announced Monday.
Per Amazon, Season 4 of the legal drama, which does not yet have a premiere date, sees Billy McBride (Thornton) taking on a case that tackles a timely global crisis impacting an entire generation.
Simmons is joining the series as George Zax, head of a family-owned and operated pharmaceutical company, one of the nation’s biggest. Dern will play Frank Zax, George’s brother and the scientific genius and ostracized black sheep of the Zax family.
In addition to Thornton, “Goliath” also stars Nina Arianda (“Stan & Ollie”) as Patty Solis-Papagian, Tania Raymonde (“Cliffs of Freedom”) as Brittany Gold, Diana Hopper (“Bit”) as Denise McBride and Julie Brister (“Review”) as Marva Jefferson.
Amazon renewed the show for a fourth and final season back in November, just over a month after Season 3 launched on Prime Video on Oct. 4.
In case you missed that batch of episodes, here’s the official description for what went down:
In Season 3 of “Goliath,” the unexpected death of an old friend leads Billy McBride (Thornton) to take a case in the drought-stricken Central Valley where he comes face-to-face with a new Goliath: a billionaire rancher (Dennis Quaid) and his sister (Amy Brenneman). As Billy and his team pursue the truth, old enemies and personal demons resurface, forcing him to confront his own mortality.
“Goliath” hails from Amazon Studios and is executive produced by Lawrence Trilling (“Parenthood”), Geyer Kosinski (“Fargo”), Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (“Boardwalk Empire”).
