E! Host Guiliana Rancic asked “Insecure” creator Issa Rae what she’d title her memoir during an interview on “Live from the Red Carpet” at the Golden Globes. Trouble is, Issa Rae already wrote a best-selling memoir.
“I’ve got to ask you, you have been so busy lately, you really have so much going on,” Rancic said to Rae during a red carpet interview. “A lot of the work you do is somewhat autobiographical. If you were to write a memoir, an autobiography, what would the name be?”
Rae’s book “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl” was published in 2015. She deftly answered the question about what she’d title her book, while noting she had already written one.
“I think my next one would be called ‘Where Do I Go From Here? What Do I Do?’” Rae joked. “And then it would just be blank pages for people to fill it out, and I’d read it.”
Rae is nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical Comedy for the second year in a row for her work on “Insecure.” The show is partially based on Rae’s experiences and on her YouTube series, also called “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”
