How E!’s Giuliana Rancic Pivoted From Red Carpet to Red Wine in Just One Day (Video)

While the American Dream is to own a house, the new Hollywood dream is to land a product line in Walmart.

Giuliana Rancic did it one day.

The E! News managing editor and red carpet prototype joins TheWrap for “Drinking With the Stars,” and lucky for us, brought the drinks herself when we sat down at Riva Bella in West Hollywood.

“XO,G”, named for Rancic’s signature sign-off, is her single serve wine line that stacks up in packs of four to form a 750ml full size wine bottle. In practical terms, it prevents the epidemic known as “mid-week, after work, orphaned bottles of wine.”.

Building on 12 years as the face of E!, an HSN clothing line, a trio of restaurants, 4 hit franchises on-air, and a wish-granting foundation for women fighting breast cancer (of which she is a survivor), she told the story of flying to Arkansas to pitch the top retailer and getting her wine picked up by Walmart within 24 hours.

What started as an outgoing, organic, instagram post from her announcing her fandom for the format just landed Walmart.

“I moved to America as a little girl,” Rancic says. “I watched my father try to achieve the American dream. So for me it was all about trying to achieve the Hollywood dream, as you put it.”
