10. Chuck Palmer (Matthew Rhys)
The girls of “Girls” get entangled with plenty of repulsive, bad guys, but it would be hard to find someone as genuinely disgusting as this famous author, who gets off on sexually harassing and assaulting his young female fans — and Hannah, in one unfortunate afternoon.
9. Charlie Dattolo (Christopher Abbott)
He was either super bland and emotionally manipulative or a shady heroin addict, there was no in-between for Marnie’s Season 1 boyfriend, who reappeared in a memorable episode in Season 5.
8. Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)
Marnie’s taste in men was truly deplorable because she went from Charlie to marrying Desi, the worst cliche of a tortured artist, who had a girlfriend when he started sleeping with her, and apparently a secret pill addiction to boot.
7. Dill Harcourt (Corey Stoll)
Elijah can be forgiven for falling for the charismatic anchor, who brings him into the cool New York scene he never would have been able to crack otherwise, but Dill was manipulative, selfish and never treated Elijah with the care and attention he really deserved.
6. Fran (Jake Lacy)
Fran was perfectly nice, and let’s be honest, probably put up with Hannah’s neuroses for much longer than he should have.
5. Paul-Louis (Riz Ahmed)
A laid back surf instructor turned from one-night stand into Hannah’s baby daddy. And while Paul-Louie’s reaction to the pregnancy news could have been a little more caring, Hannah did get exactly what she said she wanted out of the conversation.
4. Elijah (Andrew Rannells)
In the end, Elijah turned out to be Hannah’s best friend and healthiest, possibly most enduring relationship.
3. Ray (Alex Karpovsky)
He could be a father figure, a love interest, an advice-giver, a judgy grump but, through it all, Ray was there, watching over the girls, even when it caused him pain or discomfort.
2. Joshua (Patrick Wilson)
This standalone episode was the ultimate fantasy for Hannah and Patrick Wilson’s handsome, kind and sexy doctor — the perfect avatar.
1. Adam (Adam Driver)
The story of the guys of “Girls” begins and ends with Adam, who evolved from a terrible boyfriend who led Hannah on in the beginning, to someone mature and caring, who genuinely loved her and was heartbroken when their relationship ended. Hannah certainly would not be who she is today without the Adam of it all.
