Gina Rodriguez, Tracy Morgan, Will Forte and Frank Welker will be lending their voices to an animated Scooby-Doo film at Warner Bros., an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Rodriguez will voice Velma, while Forte will play Shaggy and Morgan will voice Captain Caveman — not part of the Scooby-Doo universe but a Hanna-Barbera character like the Scooby gang. Welker will be voicing Scooby.

The film is currently untitled but Tony Cervone is directing it, while Chris Columbus, Charles Roven and Allison Abbate are serving as producers.

In the film, the Mystery Inc. group will team up with other members of the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from Dick Dastardly.

The last “Scooby” film to hit theaters was “Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed” in 2004. That film made $84.2 million at the box office. It served as a sequel to 2002’s “Scooby-Doo,” which earned $153.3 million. The originally television series debuted in 1969, and many spin-off series have been produced since due to its success.

Rodriguez most recently starred in “Annihilation” and “Miss Bala,” and is represented by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman Forte most recently voiced a character in “Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.”  He will next star in Olivia Wilde’s “Booksmart.” He is represented by UTA, Rise Management and Kovert Creative.

Morgan most recently starred in “What Men Want” and “The Star,” and is famous for his roles on “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live.” He is represented by Kovert Creative, ML Management and CAA.

Welker, who’s voiced Fred Jones and Scooby-Doo previously, has also voiced Megatron in the “Transformers” franchise. He is represented by Tisherman Gilbert Motley Drozdoski Talent Agency.

The film will hit theaters in May 2020.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
