Fox predictably dominated primetime again with “Thursday Night Football.” While CBS struggled in ratings among adults 18-49, “Ghosts” was again a highlight in its second week.
Less of a highlight for CBS was the Season 2 premiere of “B Positive.”
Also returning to broadcast TV last night was the Season 4 premiere of The CW’s “Legacies.” Those Nielsen numbers made “B Positive” look like “Thursday Night Football.”
Due to the nature of live sports, the below early Nielsen numbers for Fox should be considered subject to significant adjustment. Finals figures are expected later Friday.
Fox was first in ratings with a 2.2 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 9.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. Those are the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. averages from coverage of the NFL game, in which the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 28-22.
ABC and NBC tied for second in ratings, both with a 0.5. ABC was third in total viewers with 3.6 million, NBC was fourth with 3.1 million.
For ABC, “Station 19” at 8 p.m. had a 0.5 rating and 4.1 million total viewers. At 9, “Grey’s Anatomy” drew a 0.6 rating and 3.9 million total viewers. “Big Sky” at 10 received a 0.3 rating and 2.8 million total viewers.
For NBC, following a rerun, “Law & Order: SVU” at 9 put up a 0.7 rating and 3.8 million total viewers. At 10, “Law & Order: Organized Crime” got a 0.5 rating and 3.2 million total viewers.
CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.4, but second in total viewers with 4.5 million. “Young Sheldon” at 8 had a 0.6 rating and 6.3 million total viewers. At 8:30, “United States of Al” got a 0.5 rating and 4.5 million total viewers. “Ghosts” at 9 posted a 0.6 rating and 5.1 million total viewers. At 9:30, the second “B Positive” season premiered to a 0.4 rating and 3.8 million total viewers. At 10, “Bull” closed out primetime with a 0.3 rating and 2.8 million total viewers.
The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 494,000. “Coroner” at 8 had a 0.1 rating and 643,000 total viewers. The “Legacies” season premiere at 9 got a 0.1 rating and 345,000 total viewers.
