Gerard Guillemot was named on Tuesday as the new CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, replacing Jean-Julien Baronnet.
The move represents a significant shakeup at the company behind the upcoming adaptation of the video game blockbuster “Assassin’s Creed” with Michael Fassbender.
Also of note: Guillemot is the brother of Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot.
Baronnet is the former CEO of EuropaCorp and ran Ubisoft’s film division ever since its launch in 2011.
In addition to “Assassin’s Creed,” which is due in theaters on Dec. 21, Ubisoft is also developing a “Splinter Cell” movie with Tom Hardy, “Ghost Recon” from Michael Bay and Warner Bros. and a “Watch Dogs” with Sony.
