‘Game of Thrones’: HBO Won’t Let You Miss It [VIDEO]

The net announces a suffocating premiere strategy for its adaptation of the George R.R. Martin novel

Fans of George R.R. Martin's "A Game of Thrones," the first book in the epic "A Song of Fire and Ice" fantasy series, know all too well that Winter Is Coming.

But do you know what else is coming? Many, many telecasts of the first episode of HBO's adaption of the novel.

HBO reiterated Tuesday that it will debut the first episode of its adaptation of "A Game of Thrones" (the network chops off that initial "A") on Sunday night at 9 p.m. Eastern, and announced an enthusiastic scheduling strategy for repeat airings.

The first episode will air three times on HBO on Sunday night and thrice more on HBO2 on Monday night. Also on Monday, the premiere episode will air at 9 p.m. Eastern on six HBO channels — including HBO Comedy.

Translation: HBO doesn't want any of its viewers to be left behind, not even those who just want to watch a crappy Adam Sandler movie.

And rightly so. To check out this 14-minute preview of the first episode is to be hooked.
