“Game of Thrones” star Liam Cunningham revealed a new clip during his appearance on “Conan” on Thursday, and we get a clear view of Jon Snow’s dead body.
After Conan O’Brien asked the actor, who plays Davos Seaworth on the hit HBO fantasy series, to reveal the secret author George R.R. Martin once told him. However, Cunningham responded that there were several snipers commissioned by HBO in the audience, and should he reveal anything, both he and O’Brien would be shot.
But Cunningham did debut a new scene from the upcoming sixth season: “I’ll tell you one thing, there aren’t going to be any spoilers in it. Let’s have a look, I’m not even sure I’ve seen it.”
In the clip, Davos is standing over Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) corpse.
“I’ve never been much of a fighter,” he says. “Apologies for what you’re about to see.”
Other men of the Night’s Watch try to bang down the door, with the camera panning to Snow’s direwolf, Ghost. It’s unclear what exactly is going on, but someone seems to want to try to keep Snow’s body safe.
HBO revealed on Thursday that the first episode of season six will be titled “The Red Woman,” a clear reference to Melisandre (Carice van Houten), the priestess who’s a staunch follower of the Lord of Light.
The description itself answers, once again, the perennial question since the end of last season: Is Jon Snow really dead? And the answer has not changed: “Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is dead. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets a strong man. Cersei (Lena Headey) sees her daughter again.”
“Game of Thrones” returns with its sixth season on April 24.
