(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you did not see the Season 6 finale of “Game of Thrones”)
“Game of Thrones” may be a world of magic, but some fans are mystified by how fast Arya and Varys seem to travel across continents.
Luckily, series producer Bryan Cogman took it upon himself to explain how Arya was able to get from Braavos to Westeros and Varys from Westeros back to Meereen by the end of the Season 6 finale.
“The timelines of the various story threads don’t necessarily match up all the time,” Cogman tweeted. “This is to avoid things like, say, Arya spending four episodes on a boat.”
“Oh, and in case people think I’m annoyed at the question, I’m not,” he continued. “I tied myself in knots season 1 trying to make it all line up.We realized right quick doing so would kill momentum. So there you go.”
Both Arya and Varys played a big role in the epic season finale. Arya finally got revenge on somebody on her kill list, the foul Lord Walder Frey. Varys only appeared for a moment, but in that moment seemed to solidify an alliance between Daenerys, House Tyrell and Dorne.
Oh, one thing since a few people have asked me. The timelines of the various story threads don’t necessarily match up all the time.
