(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you are not caught up on “Game of Thrones”)
“Game of Thrones” fans who want to see a Daenerys/Yara relationship just might get what they ask for if Emilia Clarke has anything to say about it.
In a behind the scenes video (below) from “Battle of the Bastards,” Clarke says there is definitely some sexual tension between herself and Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan).
“There’s like a little, ‘Oh, there’s another badass chick in the place! OK!’ There’s mild flirtation, which is exciting to say the least,” Clarke says in the video. “I mean, get rid of Daario. Bring on the ladies. Why not?”
In the episode, Daenerys returns to Meereen and makes short work of the Wise Masters with a little help from her dragons.
Afterwards, Yara and Theon arrive and pledge 100 ships to the Mother of Dragons if she will help them reclaim the Iron Islands from their psychotic uncle. Daenerys agrees, as she is clearly intrigued by another strong female ruler who has been put down by men her whole life.
There was plenty of girl power to go around in this week’s episode, as Sansa (Sophie Turner) finally got to see justice served as Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) got defeated and devoured by his own hounds.
The season finale of “Game of Thrones” airs this Sunday at 9 p.m./8c on HBO.
