‘Game of Thrones’: Lena Headey Might Be the Only One Rooting for Cersei to Take the Iron Throne (Video)

“Someone has to,” HBO star says

Are you still a fan of Cersei Lannister? Really? OK, well then you can team up with Lena Headey while rooting for her “Game of Thrones” character during the show’s eighth and final season, seeing as you and her are possibly the only people still hoping the queen currently sitting on the Iron Throne keeps it when all is said and done.

Headey stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night, only to be berated by host Jimmy Kimmel for not giving him enough details about the remaining six episodes of the HBO fantasy epic — which aren’t due out till April 14, something that is making Kimmel and many other “GoT” fans pretty testy.

After she divulged a few personal tidbits — like how she actually started tearing up when filming wrapped — Kimmel told her, “I’m gonna be honest, I’m not rooting for your character. I mean, are you rooting for her?”

“Someone has to,” Headey said, to laughter from the audience.

“Yeah, no, I’m hoping that in the end somebody is on the Iron Throne, but I don’t necessarily want it to be you,” Kimmel said.

After that he received a full-on Cersei-style glare from Headey and quickly said, “It’s nothing against you.”

“Shall I- I’ll just go,” she joked.

The eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” premieres April 14 at 9/8c on HBO.
