The return of “Galavant” was not quite triumphant.
The ABC musical comedy premiered to a mere 0.9 rating and 2 share in the 18-49 demographic, and had just 3.2 million total viewers on Sunday. Those numbers are less than half what the show received from its highly promoted series debut last year, which launched among a full night of originals.
Fox’s “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” and “Bordertown” both fared a little better in the key demo, but the new half-hour comedies had softer turnouts among total viewers.
